"Swah. kivunjajungu, [lit. ,break pot' 'casse bol'] 'mantis (so called from the superstition that the person who kills a mantis will break the next thing he touches; cf vunga ['break'] and jungo ['a large cooking pot']'. (...) Creole kasbol can be segmented into two morphemes, kas/e 'break, shatter' and bol 'bowl'. The name is thus clearly a calque of Bantu origin."
