LWT meaning(s)
Word meaning salt
Comments on word The word dɔ:sun ‘salt’ is used by older speakers in the western dialect (Tuohe), which is an older form for ‘salt’ in Oroqen, but it fell out of use in most of the dialects. The older form is clearly native to Tungusic languages. It has cognates in all the other Tungusic languages in China. All dialects currently use the form katagan/kata:n for ‘salt’, which is a borrowing from Dagur.
